WE MUST BREAK ICE.

How I will vote.
HR 4393 is the brainchild of Rep. Maria Salazar, a fanatic MAGA Florida Republican, who made global headlines for praising state’s Alligator Alcatraz as “meeting the highest standards.” (source)
My guarantee: one term. Period.

$60 BILLION TO ICE+CBP
Betty McCollum agreed to GIVE AT LEAST ANOTHER $60 BILLION TO ICE AND CBP **during Metro Surge**
Section 1204 of HR 4393 changes America’s tax code to create “a trust fund to be known as the Immigration Infrastructure and Debt Reduction Fund,” This fund is explictly to “carry out” all parts of HR 4393.
Rep. Maria Salazar’s office claims there will be at least $50 billion in this fund. (source)
Section 1203 of HR 4394 commits an additional $10 billion to enforcement.
While ICE and CBP were terrorizing Minnesota — abducting, brutalizing, and murdering our neighbors — BETTY AGREED TO GIVE THOSE SAME LAWLESS FORCES AN ADDITION SIXTY BILLION DOLLARS!
THREE MASS CONCENTRATION CAMPS
Betty McCollum sponsored the creation of at least THREE MASS CONCENTRATION CAMPS FOR ASYLUM SEEKERS — planned by the same MAGA Republican who praised Alligator Alcatraz.
Section 1501 of HR 4393 creates at least three massive camps, with ICE and CBP sharing power, where all asylum seekers must be detained for at least several months.
Only DHS (ICE and CBP’s parent department) determines whether or not the camp is “sufficient” for human life. Keep in mind, HR 4393 was written by the same Congresswoman who praised Alligator Alcatraz as “meeting the highest standards.” (Source)
Section 1502 does away with due process for asylum applications, giving “a panel of two asylum officers” the power to deny a case, rather than an immigration judge.
FULL PERMISSION TO ATTACK PROTECTED SPACES
FULL PERMISSION TO ATTACK PROTECTED SPACES
Betty McCollum agreed to GIVE ICE AND CBP THE FULL POWER TO SELF-AUTHORIZE ENTRY INTO PUBLIC SPACES without needing a judicial warrant.
Section 1121 of HR 4393 allows ICE and CBP agents to get “prior approval” to enter into protected spaces. Here’s the catch: prior approval comes from any officers of ICE and CBP given permission by the heads of ICE and CBP. They allow themselves permission. And they don’t even have to give themselves permission “under exigent circumstances.”
Protected spaces are defined as “any school”, “any hospital, medical facility, mental health facility, or other health care facility,” “any place of worship or religious study,” “any structure or place, the purpose of which is for children to gather”, “any structure or place, the purpose of which is to provide social services,” “any structure or place, the purpose of which is to provide disaster or emergency assistance or emergency relief,” “a place where a funeral, graveside ceremony, rosary, wedding, or other religious or civil ceremonies or observances occur,” “a place where there is an ongoing parade, demonstration, or rally,” and “any courthouse.”
